Shinobu 10 Year is a pure malt from Niigata, Japan, bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is a blend of malt whiskies from several distilleries, made from 100% malted barley.
The whiskies spend more than ten years in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon hogsheads, followed by a six-month finish in Japanese Mizunara casks. It is non-chill filtered and has no added colour.
The nose is fresh oak, vanilla and floral, nectar-like notes. The palate combines malt sweetness with citrus fruit, Mizunara oak and coffee beans. The finish is medium and woody, returning to a sweet malt aftertaste.
