This is a 10-year-old Japanese pure malt from Shinobu Distillery, lightly peated and bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
It was matured in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks, and Mizunara oak gives it its defining accent, alongside the malt-led character of the distillery.
The nose opens with fresh wood and vanilla. On the palate come floral nectar, maltose, a touch of citrus, Mizunara oak and coffee bean. The finish is medium and woody, returning to maltose sweetness.
