Shinobu – Pure Malt Whisky Lightly Peated Mizunara Oak Finish

Shinobu Lightly Peated is a Japanese pure malt whisky, blended by Usami Ken from malts matured in sherry and bourbon hogsheads and then finished in Mizunara oak. The body is robust, with smoky, toasty oak. It is bottled without chill-filtration and without added colour. The nose is minty and creamy, with light peat, a touch of lemon and hints of charcoal ash and smoke. On the palate the peat is moderate, mingling with toasted oak, charcoal ash, dry grass and a hint of saltiness. The finish is lingering toasted wood with sweetness from roasted malt.
