Shizuoka – Pot Still K 2019/2023 Peated Single Malt Japanese Whisky #1222 (50cl, 65.2%)

This is a single cask peated single malt from Shizuoka Distillery, selected by Asta Morris. It was distilled in April 2019 from peated malt in the K and S stills, matured for four years in a bourbon barrel, and bottled in July 2023 at a cask strength of 65.2%. The 50cl bottling comes from cask #1222 and yielded 302 bottles. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. Still K came from the closed Karuizawa distillery. Made in Japan and run on indirect steam, it produces a light, fruity, ethereal distillate. Shizuoka has been distilling since October 2016.
