Shizuoka United S 1st Edition is a Japanese single malt from Shizuoka Distillery, bottled at 50.5% ABV. It is the first release under the United S name.
It unites malt whisky from the Karuizawa pot still with malt from a wood-fired pot still, and it has been matured in bourbon casks, with a creamy influence from young oak.
Orange honey and apricot lead, with butter, sponge cake, navel orange with sugared vanilla and crêpes Suzette. A pinch of salt and a hint of smoke follow, and roasted nuts come towards the end.
