Silk Velvet Small Batch Select is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 75cl bottle. It revives a bourbon brand with roots in Henderson in 1880, and it was crafted by Jacob Call, an eighth-generation Master Distiller. The whisky is a blend of twelve hand-selected barrels. Caramel, vanilla and toasted oak form its core character, balanced by a gentle rye spice. On the nose it is vanilla bean, toasted oak, dark cherry and warm caramel. The palate brings brown sugar, baking spice, roasted nuts and a touch of stone fruit, and the finish is silky and lingering, with oak, cinnamon and a subtle cocoa sweetness.
