Silkie The Legendary Dark Irish Whiskey, Sliabh Liag (70cl, 46%)

Silkie is a dark Irish whiskey from Sliabh Liag Distillery in Donegal, an area once home to over fifty illicit distilleries. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle and is non-chill filtered. The whiskey is triple distilled in copper pot stills and matured in a combination of bourbon oak casks, sherry casks and virgin oak barrels. The nose is sweet malt and dark chocolate with caramel, orange zest and soft spice. The palate is velvety, with honey, toasted oak, dark cocoa, roasted malt and warming spice. The long finish has sweet vanilla, oak, gentle spice and a hint of smoke.
