Smögen – 10 Year Old Dante 2011/2021 (50cl, 57.8%)

Smögen Dante is a 10-year-old Swedish single malt, distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2021 at 57.8% in a 50cl bottle. It is the first 10-year-old bottling from the distillery. It is made from lightly peated barley malt and matured entirely in first-fill Sauternes barriques. Dante is the name of the bloodhound belonging to Pär Caldenby, who built the distillery, and this bottling is dedicated to the distillery's nose. The distillery occupies outbuildings of a former farm in Hunnebostrand. It works with two small copper stills and a worm tub condenser, a cooling system that has become rare.
