Smögen – 10 Year Old Port Cask

Smögen 10 is a Swedish single malt made from heavily peated Optic barley. It was distilled in December 2012 and, after its main maturation, spent two years finishing in Tawny Port casks. It was bottled in July 2023 as a limited edition of 1,420 bottles. The nose combines firm smoke with raisins and dates, cinnamon and cherries, and a hint of pineapple. On the palate it is full and powerful, with dense peat smoke, juicy oranges and plums, then blackberries and peanuts. The finish is long, carrying smoke and dark fruit.
