Smokehead Extra Rare (1L, 40%)

Smokehead Extra Rare is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky bottled by Ian Macleod Distillers. It comes in a 1 litre bottle at 40%. The nose is dense with smoke and sea air, alongside iodine, malt, sherry, fresh ginger and plum jam. On the palate it is rich and powerful, with thick smoke and earthy peat balanced by honey and vanilla, lemon peel, black pepper and a hint of tropical fruit. The finish is long and distinctly dry, with charcoal, toffee, ash and tart fruit, and the earthy peat returns at the back of the throat as the flavour fades.
