Smokehead Sherry Cask Blast is a peaty Islay single malt bottled at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in Spanish sherry casks, which bring sweet, spicy oak to the smoke.
The first impression is thick peat, followed by soft oak, custard and vanilla. The palate brings oily black smoke and a mouthcoating peatiness, then barbecued banana, tangy sultanas and dried fruit. The finish returns to peat with sweet sherry oak and a sharp, salty note.
