Smoky Scot is a heavily peated Islay single malt distilled at Caol Ila. It was matured for five years in ex-bourbon oak casks and bottled by Aceo at 46% ABV.
The nose is woody, distinctly salty and naturally smoky. On the palate come maritime notes of iodine, seaweed and tar, with drifts of smoke that fade into floral layers beside roasted nuts and malt. The finish carries smoky peat with a touch of menthol and a light trace of malt.
