Spey – Trutina Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 46%)

Trutina is a single malt from Spey, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The name is Latin for honest and pure, and the release is meant to show the natural, simple character of the distillery. It is matured entirely in bourbon casks and is non-chill-filtered, with no added colour. The nose begins with a savoury note over fruit: white grapes, apple blossom and lychees in syrup, with floral notes and a hint of boiled sweets developing. The palate is light and starts sweet, moving to crisp acidity and scented sweets. The finish is white chocolate.
