Spirits of the Apocalypse The Walking Dead Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (75cl, 47%)

This is a Kentucky straight bourbon released in October 2019 as the first bottling from Spirits of the Apocalypse, an alliance between Diageo and Skybound Entertainment, the company behind The Walking Dead comic series. It is batch 01, a limited edition in a 750ml bottle, bottled at 94 proof (47%). The distillery has not been disclosed. The packaging follows the series, with a torn paper label, bloodied fingerprints, a plastic cap and a signature strip on the neck. The colour is warm amber. The nose is soft caramel with orchard fruit, mint, peach and light oak. The palate is smooth and spicy, and the finish is lightly nutty, with lingering sweetness and warmth.
