Springbank – 10 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

Springbank 10 Year Old is a single malt from the Springbank distillery in Campbeltown, bottled at 46% without chill-filtration or added colour. It is part of the distillery's core range. It is matured 60% in bourbon casks and 40% in sherry casks. The spirit is made from lightly peated barley and distilled two and a half times, which is how the distillery makes its style. The nose shows clear cereal notes with gooseberry, mango, grape, vanilla pod and honeycomb. On the palate are oats, malted barley and orange, then heather honey, hard toffee, nutmeg and cinnamon. The finish carries a note of sea salt with a fine thread of peat smoke.
