Batch 21 of the Springbank 12 Cask Strength, distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2020 at 56.1% in a 70cl bottle. The outturn was 12,000 bottles.
The whisky was matured in a mix of casks: 45% sherry, 25% bourbon, 25% Burgundy and 5% port.
The nose has cigar box and ash, oily orange peel, polished oak and stewed orchard fruit, then balsamic hints and red fruits. On the palate come cooked berries, caramel chocolate and burnt brown sugar beside sharper citrus. The finish brings old leather and dry spices, rounded by candied berries and a hint of smoke.
