A 12 year old Springbank from Campbeltown, distilled in the 1980s and bottled by the distillery in the 1990s at 46% abv. It matured in sherry casks and carries the Green Thistle label with a gold capsule.
Tasting notes describe an oily, creamy malt with walnuts, hazelnuts and pecans, dried fruit, dark chocolate, tobacco and spiced sherry wood. Dates, figs and plums add fruit, while nutmeg, caramel and leather add further layers.
The finish is long and warming, with spicy wood, chocolate, tobacco, nuts and dried fruit.
