This Springbank was distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2014 after 18 years in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle and comes in a black and violet box.
The nose is dense and interwoven, with bitter orange peel, a little salt, almonds and a background of sherry with an earthy note. The palate starts firmly and fairly dry, with vanilla, wood and dried fruit. The finish is warm and long, with a slight tingle, dried fruit, spice and light wood.
