Springbank 18 Year Old 2022 Edition is a single malt from the Mitchell family's distillery in Campbeltown, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. The whisky combines 65% bourbon casks with 35% sherry casks.
Springbank malts, distils, matures and bottles on the same site. The sherry influence shows first on the nose, with raisins, prunes, mixed peel and fruit cake, plus caramel and spicy wood. The palate brings madeira cake, marzipan and gingerbread, with a sweetness of honey and syrup and the creamy caramel carrying through.
