This is a 35-year-old Springbank from Campbeltown, distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2024 by Signatory Vintage at 47.8% ABV. It comes from a single refill Oloroso sherry butt, number 14/03/1, in a 70cl bottle.
It belongs to the Symington's Choice series, made up of casks personally selected by Andrew Symington, founder of Signatory.
The nose combines sea air, ripe fruit and vanilla with dried fruit, nuts, leather and a little smoke. The palate is oily and complex, with dark fruit, caramel, salt, spice and sherried oak. The finish is very long, with maritime saltiness, fruit, light smoke and dry wood.
