This is a single cask Springbank from Campbeltown, distilled in May 1993 and bottled in September 2014 after 21 years in a bourbon hogshead. It comes from one cask and yielded 175 bottles at a cask strength of 55.7%, in a 70cl bottle.
Springbank is family owned and controls the whole process on site, from malting the barley to bottling.
The nose is tropical, with mango, guava, passion fruit, papaya, kiwi and dragon fruit, plus fresh-cut grass, blossom and honey. The palate keeps the mango and passion fruit, with oak, coffee beans and milk chocolate, and later honey, tobacco and old leather. The finish is long and fruity, with mild spice and a drier close.
