This is a 21 year old single cask Springbank from Campbeltown, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle for the Springbank Open Day 2015, part of the Campbeltown Malts Festival.
The whisky was distilled in December 1993 and matured in a single refill claret cask, a Bordeaux red wine cask. It was bottled in May 2015, and the outturn was 264 bottles.
The nose is fruity, with fresh and dried fruit, honey, vanilla, green herbs, hazelnuts and Brazil nuts. On the palate it is oily, with a sweet and sour opening and a gentle peat smoke. The finish is long, with dried fruit, leather and black tea.
