A 21 year old Campbeltown single malt from Springbank, distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2021 at 46%. It matured in a combination of 35% port, 35% sherry and 30% bourbon casks, and 3600 bottles were released worldwide.
The style is old-fashioned and complex, with warehouse notes, ripe fruit, caramel and a light earthy smokiness.
The nose has a salty sea breeze, ripe oranges and other citrus, salted caramel, honey and fudge. The palate is velvety and creamy, with vanilla, mild cappuccino, mahogany, maple syrup, marinated ham, demerara sugar and baked cooking apples. The finish is long, buttery and creamy, with dark chocolate and cocoa powder.
