Springbank – 21 Year Old Hedley Wright Dumpy Bottle 1969/1990 (70cl, 46%)

This Springbank 21 Year Old is a Campbeltown single malt distilled around 1969 and bottled around 1990 at 46%, in a 70cl bottle. It spent all 21 years in sherry casks. It was bottled under the Hedley Wright label in a dumpy bottle, sealed with wax and dressed with a label in an old parchment style. The nose is intense and honey-sweet, with toffee and oak. The palate is very oily and soft, with liquorice, citrus, cooked oranges, toffee, brown sugar and sugar cane, balanced between oak and sweetness. The finish is medium in length and soft, with oranges and a light sweetness.
