This is the 2025 edition of Springbank 21 Years, a Campbeltown single malt bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The make-up of the casks changes from year to year.
For 2025 the whisky matured in 65% port, 25% bourbon, 5% rum and 5% sherry casks. It is not chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The nose opens with Medjool dates and sticky toffee pudding, then rich molasses, stewed plums and a touch of blood orange, with gentle peat smoke behind. On the palate the smoke continues alongside brown sugar, cigar box, blackberries and Iberico ham. The finish brings banana bread, cinnamon and a savoury, earthy note.
