Springbank 21 Year Old is a Campbeltown single malt from a distillery where everything is still done by hand. It matured for more than two decades in a mix of port, bourbon, rum and sherry casks.
The nose offers dates, sticky toffee pudding and stewed plums, with a fresh hint of blood orange and a little smoke. On the palate come dried figs, brown sugar and leather, together with dark fruit, cocoa and a savoury edge of Iberico ham.
The finish is long and warming, with banana bread, cinnamon and a soft saltiness.
