This is Springbank 30 Year Old, the 2022 First Edition from Campbeltown. The whisky was distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2022 at 46% in a 70cl bottle, after maturing in a combination of 85% bourbon and 15% sherry casks. The outturn is 1,400 bottles worldwide.
The nose brings tropical fruit, mainly pineapple, mandarin and peach, followed by vanilla. On the palate it is sweet, with ripe citrus, a little peat smoke, Turkish delight, sorbet and some coconut. The finish carries tropical fruit with waxy tones and a touch of mint.
