Springbank 5 Year Old 100 Proof is a young Campbeltown single malt from one of Scotland's last independent family-owned distilleries. It is bottled at 100 proof, which is 57.1%, in a 70cl bottle, after five years in bourbon casks.
The nose has fresh bread, yeast, lemon zest and a light sea breeze, with honey and gentle herbal notes. On the palate come juicy peach, cereal, grass, herbs and a creamy dough note. A few drops of water bring out a subtle, salty, maritime smoke. The finish is medium in length, spicy and faintly smoky, with a honeyed sweetness.
