This is an 8 year old Springbank from Campbeltown, bottled exclusively for the Japanese market in the 1980s. It was distilled around 1980 and bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The nose is fresh and fruity, with lemon, honey, limestone and minerals, then yellow fruit, plum, apple and grape, and a hint of ham and smoke. The palate is oily and very mineral, with fine sweetness, pear, grapefruit and some greener fruit, and a little salt. The finish is medium in length, warm and spicy, ending slightly bitter, with old tin, a little metal, melon, pear and a touch of wood.
