This is a 10 year old Campbeltown single malt from Springbank, made from Belgravia barley grown on the local West Glencraigs farm. It was distilled in May 2011 and matured entirely in bourbon casks, then bottled at cask strength, 51.6% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The release came to 15,000 bottles.
The nose offers honey, biscuit, fermenting orchard fruit, dark fruit, vanilla custard and some wood and bourbon notes. On the palate there is buttery vanilla ice cream with a sharp raspberry reduction, a slightly dry edge, coastal notes, subtle smoke and lime. The finish keeps sharp fruit and maritime notes, with some spice.
