Springbank Local Barley 8 Year Old is a Campbeltown single malt distilled in July 2016 and bottled in December 2024 for the 2025 edition. It uses Bere barley grown at High Ranachan farm, with production carried out entirely at the distillery. Maturation was divided equally between bourbon and sherry casks, yielding 13,500 bottles at a natural strength of 58.1%.
Black pepper, cigar box and sage lead into buttery shortbread, salted caramel and basil. The long, gentle finish carries soft caramel.
