Springbank Rum Wood is a 15-year-old Campbeltown single malt matured entirely in former rum barrels. It was distilled in 2003, bottled in 2019 at 51% and released in 9000 bottles. This one is in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is exotic and sweet, with pineapple, banana and coconut, then caramel and marshmallow and a little smoke behind. The palate is full and soft, with pastry sweetness, apples, citrus, ginger and nutty notes, along with the earthy Campbeltown character. The finish is dry, earthy and lightly smoky, with black pepper.
