St. George – Baller Single Malt Whiskey (75cl)

St. George Baller is a Californian single malt whiskey, created with Japanese-style highballs in mind, which explains the name. It is made from American barley, mostly pale malted two-row with the remainder lightly roasted, and distilled in pot stills. The whiskey is aged in used bourbon casks and French oak wine casks, filtered through maple charcoal, then finished in casks that held a house-made umeshu, a Japanese-style plum liqueur made from California-grown ume fruit. The label shows St. George re-imagined as a samurai. It is crisp and dry, with a touch of malt sweetness and a hint of lychee and nutty almond. The smoky finish lingers and builds.
