A Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 44.8% ABV, distilled at Owensboro Distilling Co. and released by Artisan Spirits as a tribute to Peter Holmes, a 19th-century carriage builder.
The mash bill is 70% corn, 21% rye and 9% malted barley, and the whiskey is aged in heavily charred American white oak. The profile is grain-forward, balancing earthy rye spice with honeyed sweetness.
The nose brings dry cereal grain, light caramelised pineapple, toasted oak and vanilla. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth, with sweetcorn and honey, then roasted peanuts, cinnamon and faint tobacco leaf. The finish is clean and warming, with toasted oak and dry baking spice.
