Stanhope Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey Reserve is a rye whiskey made in Kentucky and matured to the rules for straight rye. It is bottled at 45.2% vol. in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is spicy, with pepper, nutmeg and herbs, fine grain notes and a hint of vanilla. On the palate it is powerful and layered, with pronounced rye spice at the centre, subtle sweetness and light wood notes from the cask. The finish is dry, spicy and long, with a fine sharpness.
