Starward – Octave Barrels Limited Edition (70cl, 48%)

Starward Octave Barrels is a limited edition Australian single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 48% vol. It is a tribute to Yalumba Octavius, a Barossa Valley Shiraz that matures in 100 litre octave casks. Starward used these Yalumba octaves to mature the whisky, which gives it a chestnut-brown colour and the character of Barossa Old Reve Shiraz. The nose brings plenty of red fruit, raisins, ripe peach, caramel and toasted oak. On the palate come intense fruit, dark berries and a frame of toasted oak, followed by a finish of toasted marshmallows.
