Starward – Octave Limited Edition Single Malt (70cl, 48%)

Starward Octave is a limited edition Australian single malt, bottled at 48% vol. in a 70cl bottle. It is part of the Starward Projects releases. The whisky was aged in 100 litre octave-sized barrels that previously held The Octavius, an old vine Barossa Shiraz from Yalumba. The small, hand-coopered barrels led to close interaction between wood and whisky. The nose combines raisin, ripe peach and caramel with red and dark forest fruit. The palate is full-bodied and plump, with toasty oak and marshmallow, leading to a long, rich finish.
