This is an Australian single malt from Starward, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited edition.
The whisky was aged in red wine barrels and then finished in heavily peated barrels from Islay, Scotland. It is the first time Starward's fruit-forward style has carried coastal, peaty smoke.
The nose brings tropical fruit, toasted oak and a hint of sweet peat. On the palate come ripe red berries, coastal peat smoke, yellow peach and cocoa nibs. Oak slowly dries the finish, which is long and peated. The colour is sunset gold.
