This is a Danish rye whisky from Stauning Distillery, finished in mezcal casks and bottled at 46.3% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The rye is floral-malted at the distillery and double-distilled in flame-heated pot stills. It then spent at least six months in former mezcal casks from Oro de Oaxaca in Mexico.
The nose has sweet pipe tobacco smoke, dark raisins, oat biscuit and citrus peel. The palate is creamy, with cinnamon, brown sugar, molasses, tobacco leaf, vanilla and dried fruit, then lime, lemon and agave. The finish is long and gently sweet, with smoke, salt, brown sugar and black pepper.
