Stauning KAOS Triple Malt Whisky (70cl, 46%)

Stauning KAOS is a Danish triple malt from Stauning Whisky, on Denmark's west coast. It marries three of the distillery's styles: malted rye whisky, unpeated single malt and a single malt smoked with heather and peat. The Danish rye and barley are floor-malted at the distillery and double distilled in small direct-fired copper pot stills. The whisky matures for roughly four to five years in heavily charred virgin American oak and first-fill Maker's Mark casks. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The nose brings cereal grain, chocolate and caramel with cinnamon and a hint of distant bonfire. Sweet apple, nougat and liquorice mark the palate, and the finish is long and smoky, with orange, dried red fruit and tobacco.
