Stauning – Rye PX Sherry Oak (46%)

A Danish rye whisky from Stauning, built on the distillery's signature make: locally grown Danish rye and barley, 100% floor-malted on site, double distilled in small copper pot stills heated by direct fire and matured in virgin oak. It is bottled at 46% ABV. It then receives a long finish in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, which brings darker fruit, warm sweetness and extra depth without overpowering the rye. Warm baking spices and dark dried fruit lead the nose. On the palate come caramelised fig, ripe plum and toasted oak, with velvety sweetness balanced against rye spice, followed by a long, fruity finish.
