First-fill Plantation rum cask finish
This is a Danish rye whisky from the Stauning distillery. The mash is 70% rye and 30% barley, grown locally and fully floor-malted, then distilled twice in small copper pot stills. It spends three years in new American oak, then eight months in first-fill Plantation rum casks. The new oak brings vanilla, caramel, liquorice and toasted, woody notes, while the rum finish adds warm aromas of dried fruit and chocolate.
