Stellum Straight Rye Whiskey (75cl)

This is a straight rye whiskey from Stellum, in a 75cl bottle, built on a 95% rye Indiana mash bill. Small amounts of more barley-forward rye are added, along with barrels from Kentucky and Tennessee. The aim is a full, round mouthfeel and flashes of buttery sweetness in an otherwise spicy, tightly focused rye. It is a deep copper in the glass. The nose offers stewed apples, peaches and pears with nutmeg, clove, mint and licorice. The palate brings aniseed, cardamom, coriander, lemon peel and tangerine, and the finish carries star anise, white pepper and mint, fading to honey-sweetened jasmine green tea.
