This is a four-year-old rye whiskey from Stork Club in Germany, the second release in its Beer Barrel Series. Spreewood Distillers made it together with Johannes Heidenpeter, a brewer working from the Markthalle IX market hall in Kreuzberg.
The brewer had matured his Heidenpeters Stout in German oak barrels, and the rye spent four years in those same barrels. It is bottled at 50% ABV, without added colour or chill filtering, in a run of 520 bottles.
