This is a 30 year old Strathisla single malt, distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2019 by Wilson & Morgan for its Barrel Selection. It was finished in Oloroso sherry wood and is bottled at 54.2% in a 70cl bottle.
The sherry influence is kept light, a hint of second-fill character that leaves the dry maltiness in front. This is a flowery Speyside malt with a firm body and a cereal-rich character.
It is mineral, waxy and rather peppery, with fresh orange peel. Butter biscuits and honey appear before the whisky returns to a peppery dryness.
