This is a 25 year old Strathisla in a 70cl bottle, a special celebration edition made for the distillery's staff to mark its reopening in 1995. Only 600 bottles were produced.
The nose is fruity, led by ripe banana and pineapple, with dried apricots, butter, pastries, currant leaves, old leather and a hint of berry sourness. On the palate come sweet and sour berries, rowan, spices, tannins and a menthol chill, along with honey and toffee. The finish is long and measured, with dried apricots, almonds, chokeberry and a delicate touch of oak.
