Type
Single Malt Whisky
Strathspey is a Speyside single malt bottled in the 1970s by D. Cameron & Co. Ltd. of Rothes on Spey. The label gives the strength in proof and the volume in fluid ounces, which places it in the late 1970s. The name does not point to one distillery. At that time IDV owned four, Auchroisk, Knockando, Strathmill and Glen Spey, so the malt is probably a combination of two or more of them. The nose offers autumn leaves, cooked apples, old varnished wood and dark chocolate orange. The palate is medium in weight and very soft, with church pews, sugared almonds, brazil nuts and cold apple pie. The finish is of decent length, with apple pie and a soft cinnamon tingle.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
