Sullivans Cove – Old & Rare American Oak Second Fill Single Cask 16 Year Old TD0048 (70cl, 48%)

Sullivans Cove Old & Rare American Oak TD0048 is a 16-year-old Tasmanian single cask single malt, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It is the first TD cask in the Old & Rare series and the oldest second-fill the distillery has bottled. The whisky was filled on 18 October 2005 and decanted on 11 November 2021. It matured entirely in a 300-litre American oak cask that had previously held another Sullivans Cove single malt, and 406 bottles were drawn. The nose is soft oak, light fruit esters and a mellow warmth. The palate is balanced, with understated spice, orchard fruit and polished wood, and the finish is long, with the oak building towards the end.
