Sullivans Cove – Old & Rare American Oak Second Fill Single Cask 17 Year Old Single Malt Whisky (TD0064) (70cl, 47.4%)

This is a 17-year-old single cask Tasmanian single malt from Sullivans Cove, bottled at 47.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in a 300-litre second-fill American oak cask, TD0064, which had held only one other Sullivans Cove malt. The cask was filled in December 2005 and the whisky decanted in February 2023. It was bottled unfiltered, one of 446 bottles, and comes in a handcrafted walnut case. The nose is rich and earthy, with peach, toasted oats, flamed orange and Anzac biscuits. The palate is juicy, with jammy tropical fruit, taffy, honey-soy glaze and spiced puff pastry. The finish is floral, with salted cantaloupe, chamomile and coconut icing fading into a long malty close.
