American oak ex-Apera
A single cask Tasmanian single malt from Sullivans Cove, matured in American oak that previously held Apera, the Australian fortified wine made in the style of sherry. It was distilled on 7 November 2007 and bottled on 15 October 2019 from cask TD0214, with an age statement of eleven years. The cask gave 281 bottles at 45.8%, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The nose shows melon, quince jelly and fruit sweets alongside baklava, nougat, caramel pralines and fresh orange zest. On the palate come apricot jam, stewed peaches, shortbread, walnuts and blackberries, with vanilla, fig and fresh herbs. The finish is creamy, with pastry, light fruit, coconut, chocolate ice cream and honey.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
